Cristiano Ronaldo Provisionally Suspended By Portuguese Football Federation

Cristiano Ronaldo has been provisionally suspended by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) following a disciplinary investigation into his departure from Portugal's national team camp during the nations leagues games.

The federation announced the decision on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after opening disciplinary proceedings to investigate the circumstances surrounding the 41-year-old forward's exit from the squad.

By decision of the Non-Professional Section of the Portuguese Football Federation’s Disciplinary Council on October 9, 2026, disciplinary proceedings were opened against Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. The investigation aims to determine whether the events reported on October 7, 2026, constitute a disciplinary offense.

In addition to the automatic provisional suspension that the player was subject to until the proceedings were opened, a further non-automatic provisional suspension was imposed. The case has been classified as urgent.

On October 10, 2026, the case was referred to the FPF Disciplinary Investigation Committee. The proceedings will remain confidential until the investigation is completed.

If found guilty, CR7 will be temporarily banned from the National Team between 1-6 months
