Despite the renewed military confrontation, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran still wants a negotiated solution to the war.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, Pezeshkian told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that continued fighting was in nobody's interest and that dialogue remained the way forward.
