Iran’s Foreign Minister Calls Netanyahu a “Serpent” After His Speech

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has launched a blistering attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a “serpent” and accusing him of manipulating the United States into war with Iran.

Araghchi made the remarks on Monday, August 31, 2026, in response to comments Netanyahu reportedly made about his long campaign to influence American public opinion and US policy toward Iran.

Araghchi: Netanyahu “suckered” America into war

In a post on X, Araghchi contrasted Netanyahu's comments in Hebrew with his public statements in English.

The Iranian foreign minister claimed that Netanyahu had openly boasted about persuading the US administration to enter the conflict on Israel's behalf and about using approximately 1,000 hours of appearances on American television to influence American attitudes toward Iran.

Araghchi then sharply concluded his message by referring to Netanyahu as a “serpent.”

The comments come as the US-Iran conflict has entered another dangerous phase.

The United States recently struck Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, saying the weapons were connected to Iranian preparations to deploy sea mines. Iran subsequently launched missiles toward US military bases in Jordan.

The renewed fighting has raised questions about Washington's long-term strategy toward Tehran and Israel's influence on US policy.
